Hi team,

In the datasheet of BQ79606 section 8.3.6.2, it says " TSREF must be enabled (CONTROL2[TSREF_EN]=1) for at least 2ms (for the recommended capacitor value, larger capacitors may lead to longer startup time) before enabling the OT/UT function".

But in the 8.3.6.4.1 section, step 5 enables UT/OT function before enabling the TSREF. Why is that?

Besides, I have another problem about the functional block diagram. As I can understand, the TSHUT PTAT should be the same physical input as the TWARN PTAT into the AUX ADC, because in the Table 5. AUX ADC I can only find the formula to calculate the TWARN_PTAT. Am I right?

Hi Taoran,

I believe the section with tsref after ot ut enable is a typo and should be set before enabling otut. As for TSHUT it is a different temp sensor that can be triggered in a number of other blocks but it unrelated to TWARN. You cannot measure TSHUT as it will only trigger if this threshold has been exceeded.

Hi Taylor,

Thank you for your answer. But I still have a problem: The TWARN is the temp sensor connecting to the die temperature ADC, right? It will send out the temperature measured to Tj ADC and compare the converted value against the TWARN threshold. Is that right?
