BQ 500211:I'd like to know about the parameters and principles of the circuit design of comm pin.

Part Number: BQ500211

HELLO!

I don't quite understand how this circuit is designed and how comm pins communicate.

Best regards from China,
Zhetao Xie

  • Hello

The external Comm circuit will only prepare the signal before it is applied to ADC of the BQ500211.

Diode network is a protection circuit, limit voltage between gnd and 3.3V.

R14 / R5 is a voltage divider to bias the signal to ab to 1.5V.

R6 / R5 is a voltage divider to reduce signal amplitude.

C18 will couple the AC portion of signal to R6 / R5 network.

    C14 is high freq filter.

Note that the portion comm signal (tank voltage) used is the lower part and will be between ground and 2.5V at R5.
