The external Comm circuit will only prepare the signal before it is applied to ADC of the BQ500211.
Diode network is a protection circuit, limit voltage between gnd and 3.3V.
R14 / R5 is a voltage divider to bias the signal to ab to 1.5V.
R6 / R5 is a voltage divider to reduce signal amplitude.
C18 will couple the AC portion of signal to R6 / R5 network.
C14 is high freq filter.
Note that the portion comm signal (tank voltage) used is the lower part and will be between ground and 2.5V at R5.
