Hello,

I'm trying to simulate the following circuit and I'm expecting to see the current reach 1.2A for 4 ms then the the part should act as circuit breaker. 

As you can see from the simulation output the output current is limited to ILIM as specified in the TPS25942:

Datasheet reports:

The TPS25944 allows the overload current to flow through the device until I(LOAD) < I(FASTRIP). It starts the timer when I(LIM) < I(LOAD) < I(FASTRIP), and once the timer exceeds tCB(dly), the internal FET is turned off and FLT is asserted.

Could you tell me where is the mistake?

    Hi Alberto,

    If the overload is during startup, even TPS25944 also limits the output current to Ilim for 4ms interval before shutting off.

    Thank for the answer, but can you tell me when the startup sequence ends and the device beging to work as tps25944? I did not find this information on the datasheet.

    Hi Alberto,

    Startup sequence ends when the output voltage reaches close to Vin i.e., when the difference between Vout and Vin is just IR drop across the device.
