BQ25895: ADC reading in discharge mode

hi,

we are testing BQ25895 for a new portable equipment.

we selected this part as we were looking for the current monitor (ADC).

it seems the ADC works only in charging mode and not in discharge, while we need both.

may you provide an advice?

Vincenzo,

The ADC only works as long as V(BAT) > MINSYS. If you lower the MINSYS voltage to its lowest setting 3.0V, the ADC works down to V(BAT)=3.0V.

so I can actually read also discharge current as long as V(BAT) > MINSYS, correct?

if this is not the case, may you suggest a solution?

Vincenzo,

The ADC only reads Charge Current (IBAT), not battery discharging current.
