UCD90120A: After clearing "(EAh) LOGGED_FAULTS", UCD don't log faults any more

Dear sir,

For the register: (EAh) LOGGED_FAULTS, base on documentation it could be clear after PMBus perform a Block_Write with 0 on it.
But after clear, UCD do not log faults any more even AC power cycle. Do you have any idea of this situation?

Here is our log shows each byte in EAh are all ZERO.

Hello

Thank you for the file. The brownout mode is enabled in your file.

Please refer section 10.26(cleaning the log paragraph) to clean the fault log if brownout mode is enable http://www.ti.com/lit/ug/slvu352g/slvu352g.pdf

Without these steps, new faults are not logged.

Dear sir,

The default value of FCh(MISC_CONFIG) read from our UCD90120A is 0x07

root@ubuntu:~# ipmitool i2c bus=2 0x68 0xf 0xea
0e 09 00 02 02 42 02 02 02 02 03 03 03 03 03
root@ubuntu:~# ipmitool i2c bus=2 0x68 0x3 0xfc
02 07 00

but after clear EAh(LOGGED_FAULTS), the value in FCh change to 0x0

I tried to override it to 0x7, but it back to 0x7 after AC power cycle:

root@ubuntu:~# ipmitool i2c bus=2 0x68 0xf 0xea
 0e 01 10 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
root@ubuntu:~# ipmitool i2c bus=2 0x68 0x3 0xfc

Do you have any idea of this symptom?

No, it shall not. Did you issue the command(0xFC) to disable the brownout before erasing the log(0xEA)?

No, I erased (0xEA) without any pre-steps.

I can not think about anything other than application issues new 0xFC command to the device.

I tested on the EVM with your project file and not able to reproduce the issue.
