TLC77: IBIS Model

Part Number: TLC77

Can TI provide an IBIS model for the TLC77?

  • Jeff,

We do not provide an IBIS model for the TLC77 because this is an older device. For newer voltage supervisor devices, we typically only provide PSpice or TINA spice models. Can I ask why the model is needed? And why the TLC77 device was chosen?

  • Michael,

I am working on the signal integrity portion of a worst-case analysis and I am trying to determine if the output of the supervisor needs termination or not before the PB is designed. We use the supervisor as part of a power-on reset circuit and I want to be sure the resets are clean. This part was chosen because of its use on a similar program where it has already been tested and qualified. That saves cost and schedule. Could you provide the output impedance at least if an IBIS model won't be provided?

    Jeff

  • Jeff,

There is no termination needed for these outputs. We do not provide the output impedance nor do we guarantee an output impedance. The RESET and /RESET outputs are totem-pole logic outputs from internal logic gates consisting of blocks of transistors. The outputs have either GND, VDD, or high Z logic states. There shouldn't be any need for termination and the outputs should connect directly to the ENABLE/DISABLE, or some other input of the next device. There should be no concern with signal integrity as long as you are using the device within the recommended operating conditions.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions, thank you!
