LM76005: Stability with varying output voltage

Hello,

If I want to use the LM76005 as a variable output buck with a Vout range of 5V-20V, would there be stability concerns? What size inductor would be recommended for an application like this? Or if this won't work, is there another device that could be recommended?

Vin is 24V and Iout is 3.25A

Hello Michael,

The device's stability really depends on 'How you are varying Vout voltage"?

Are you looking for a device for a USB Type C application?

Hello Michael,

Please also consider the device LM61460-Q1 for your application.

I have a USB Type C application solution ready for this device.

And this device is widely used in this application space particularly.

And there will be no stability issues.

If I ordered an LM61460EVM (not the Q1 version) and performed similar tests would I see the same results or is there an advantage to the Q1 version?

Yes, there is no functional difference between Q and non-Q version.
