bq771612: Vdd vs. V4

Part Number: bq771612

Forum members,

I have a situation in which I am using the bq771612 secondary protection IC with the bq40z50-R1 gas gauge. In connecting the power to the two units, I have selected a common Vdd taken from the common sources of the two FETs via a diode.  As a result, when the pack is in IDLE mode, the V4 pin of the secondary protection circuit is one diode drop (approximately 0.6V) above Vdd.  The data sheet gives no guidance regarding voltage limits on the pins except a generic -0.3 to +20V spec for all pins. Are the cell input amplifiers/level shifters configured so that a voltage in excess of Vdd will not damage the secondary protector or cause activation of the protector?
