BQ24610: Can it detect battery level?
The BQ24610 seems like a very integrated chip, however for our project a chip that has all the same features and can also detect battery voltage level (aka charge level) would be extremely useful. Does this chip have the capability and I just cant find it in the datasheet? Or is there another similar chip that can give a readout of the battery level?

I don't understand the "detect battery voltage level". The bq24610 has FB pin to monitor the BAT voltage through a resistor dividor.
Sorry I should have been more clear. What we need is a way to read how much battery life is remaining from an external microchip. This is easy to do if the external microchip had an A/D converter, however our chip does not have that functionality. Thus we need a charge controller like the BQ24610 that can also give a readout of the battery voltage.
bq24610 can not report the remaining battery capacity. TI gas gauge IC ( such as bq8050...) can report the remaining capacity. But, you have to add it on the board. Please check with gas gauge forum to find a total solution.
As noted the bq24610 is a charge controller IC. To know the capacity of a battery or battery pack you will need a "gas gauge" IC. TI offers many different ones for various battery chemistries and configurations. Knowing the battery voltage alone is helpful, but can be misleading depending on many factors.
