12V Lead-acid solar charger with battery management
Hello everybody! I'm an engineer in electronics and industrial automation from Romania. I'm working currently to a solar powered automatic purge for gas industry. I need help in choosing the best i.c. for the UPS. The system should work either from solar energy, during the day, or from a 12V lead-acid battery. The battery should be charged from and MPPT charge controller. I need battery management also so I can predict battery failure. The system is quite critical.
I will need to obtain 5V continuous with max 500 mA currrent, 24 V with on/off control with a max load of 5W (some type of valve solenoid)
Can anyone give me a hint about best fit ic for battery charger and battery management. I don't mind if those would be separate i.c.'s. Thank you and have a beautiful day!
