What is the trend for Battery temperature management? In the past charging was allowed only between 0 and 45 Celsius.
The new Japanese standard is suggesting a 0-10C half C charge level or a reduced voltage regulation at 4.1V.
For temperatures between 45 and 50C the regulation voltage should be reduced from 4.25Vmax to 4.15Vmax and for battery temperatures between 50-60C the regulation should be 4.1Vmax. Over 60C, there is no charging.
To simplify the charger TS design, TI is considering using 0.5C between 0 and 10C and 4.1Vmax between 45 and 60C.
Any feedback on what is required by the manufactures or desired is appreciated.
