BQ25504 Evaluation Kit

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ25504

Hi, I am testing the BQ25504 Evaluation kit, currently the kit only set to charge voltage output to 3.8v? I would like to know how can I make it to charge voltage output to 5v. Thanks.

  • Hello Mei Lin,

The regulation value of for the voltage on Vstor is set by the Vbat_ok resistor dividers along with the over voltage and under voltage references.

Do modify the EVM to set Vstor to 5V simply follow the equations on Pg. 16 of the datasheet to change the value.

  • Actually, the regulation voltage is set by the VBAT_OV resistors.  The VBAT_OK resistors set the trip points for the VBAT_OK signal that can be used to communicate when the VSTOR=VBAT voltage is within a certain range.

When changing the resistors, remove residual solder flux as it can leave parasitic resistors in the 1Mohm range that can change the effective value of the regulation resistors and therefore your voltage thresholds.
