bq24193 ILIM Setting

Hi,

From datasheet, the actual VBUS input maximum current is set by the lower value between ILIM pin and register REG00[2:0] setting.

If R(ILIM) is 180ohm, from the equation, I(INMAX) = 1/180*530 = 2.94A.

Assuming REG00[2:0] = 111 (3A), would this set the actual input maximum current as 2.94A, or will it be set to the closest lower next step of 2A, or closest higher next step of 3A?

  • Thanks for your question.

In your example above the actual current limit would be 2.94A.  The register settings provide fixed level current limits and the ILIM pin allows for variable limits, the lower of the two will always be the limit.

    Thanks,

    Rachel
