USB-to-GPIO issue

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCD3138, BQ24261

Hi,

I have one USB-to-GPIO Adapter. I used it with my UCD3138 EVM, no Problem. Than I have to evaluate the bq24261 and so I used the bq24261 EVM with the Adapter. I get a message, that I have to update the Firmware of the adapter, for what reason ever and than it worked out.

But now, I have to work with my UCD3138 EVM, but the PC and Design Fusion Software didn#t found my USB-to-GPIO Adapter any more. This seems to be a lethal update!!!!

Switching back to bq24261 EVM works ...

Do I Need Special USB-to-GPIO Adapter for each EVM?

Urgent help needed.

With best regards

Gerhard

  • For most of our EVMs, the EVM software developer includes code to autodetect the USBtoGPIO box firmware version at software startup and update if necessary (like the bq24261EVM software did).  I suggest posting a question in the appropriate forum for the UCD3138.  Perhaps they have a failsafe for this.  If not, you will have to order another USBtoGPIO box that is configured for the UCD3138.
