Question of BQ24075's #CHG operation

[ Normal Operation ]

1. Battery Voltage is 3.7V, #CHG pin is LOW

2. Battery is normaly disconnected and connected

3. #CHG state is HIGH (battery is disconnected) --> LOW (battery is connected)

[ Abnormal Operation ]

1. Battery Voltage is 3.7V, #CHG pin is LOW

2. Battery is quickly disconnected and connected in 500ms

3. #CHG state is HIGH (battery is disconnected) --> HIGH (battery is connected)

==> Question : Why #CHG pin does not change LOW state?

Please let mw know.

  • The charger needs to complete one battery detection cycle, which typically takes t(DET) = 250ms but could take as much 500ms, or it thinks that the battery was not removed but reached full charge and then discharged enough to enter recharge. In a recharge cycle, the /CHG pin is not reset and remains hi Z.
