Hi all,

I am facing strange problem with BQ24167. It's battery detection loop is getting un-stabilized. I have attached waveform for SYS voltage. It is constantly moving from 4.3V (no-battery) to 3.85 V. Surprisingly, the power good and charging signals are always low and not toggling.

When the charging source is removed the battey voltage is 3.75V and the system voltage is also 3.75V. What could be the problem ? Please let me know if any more details are required

When source is applied, what is the voltage at the IC's IN or USB pin? What is the current capability of the input source? Can you measure input current and input voltage on the same plot as above.

Hi Jeff,

I am attaching the voltage at USB pin v/s SYS voltage waveform. The input source current capacity is 1A. It is very difficult for me to plot input current on the scope. So, just attaching the Input voltage waveform.

Do you think this could be because of battery not attached properly ? I am facing this problem only in one board.

The battery detect routine has a 250ms deglitch time. This is closer to 50ms -60ms. The TS deglitch time is 50ms. The deglitch time on SYS short circuit is 60ms. The input voltage is dropping below 4.5V for brief periods.
