My customer have a question on BQ24232 in connection with the planned certification for EU and later UL.
they have in their design the charger BQ24232 and operate a lithium battery with 350mAh.
The device is a portable FM receiver with approximately 25mA current consumption. Charge at 5V at 200mA.
The question now is, can the charger be sufficient as protection against short-circuit and overload so that a CE and UL certification might be possible?
According to the statement of the TÜV the charger would be a safety-related component and must be certified.
Is there for BQ24232 appropriate certification?
The lithium cell itself would be UL certified.
