BQ24250 TS function register #6

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ24250

Hi Team,

One of my customer is using BQ24250 and want to do a custome 'temperature protection' function by the MCU themselves, but want to check 1 question with us that:

If they disable the TS function by set register #6_B4 to be 0, whether the register #6's B0~B3(TS fault mode) still be working and can report a correct TS fault mode?(they want to use this data and report to MCU, then control BQ24250's charge current/voltage themselves)

Thanks & BRs,

Cheney

  • Hey Cheney,

Once the bit is turned off (R#6_b[4]), its stops registering any fault conditions from the TS pin (R#6_b[3:0]) are not reported.

One alternative is to monitor the fault condition, and toggle the R#6_b[4] bit from 0/1 once you know the state of the battery, to implement your own charging profile.
