BQ24075T Function Check

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ24075T, BQ24092EVM

Dear sir,

Currently my customer simulate BQ24075T, but have question need you help.
Use DC power supply 3.5VDC simulate BATT_V Battery power, SYS_V occur drop when system trigger  approx 200mA.

The phenomenon is right? (DC power supply 3.7VDC simulate BATT_V Battery power function is OK)

  • Kuo,

A power supply is not a good emulation tool for a battery.  A source meter (can sink/source current/voltage) is a better option.  Alternatively a power supply can be used with a few extra components.  First, you need a diode to prevent current into the power supply.  Add high power resistors to sink current between the charger and the diode.  The power supply now sets the voltage of the battery, but does not sink any current.

The attached schematic is an example.  This can be found in the bq24092EVM user's guide.

    Regards,

    Dick
