BQ24133: Battery Thermistor

Part Number: BQ24133

Dear TI,

On the datasheet, the battery thermistor is recommended as 10KΩ, but it should be used as 100KΩ.

Therefore, RT2 = 139,452Ω and RT1 = 37,043Ω should be selected based on the datasheet,

We will select 137KΩ or 140KΩ of E96 series as RT2 resistance and select RT1 according to each resistance value.

In addition to the above solutions, please let us know if you have any other options when using 100KΩ Thermistor.

Thank you.

  • Hi BJ Han,

I don't think there should be any problems with the 100k thermistor, as long as you get the correct voltage values at the temperatures you wish. You can look at the calculation tool www.ti.com/.../sluc244 which will help you with the calculations. Just change the resistance value of the NTC thermistor at 0C and at 45C, and the table will give you the correct resistor divider.

    Thanks,
    Steven
