BQ24610: bq24610 minimum precharge/termination current

Hi,

We got a questions from customer about bq24610.
Could you help us?

[Question]
- According to datasheet, "The minimm precharge/termination current is clamped to be around 125mA with default 10mohm sensing resistor."
If they use current sense resistor is 20mohm, how much is the minimum precharge/termination current? Does the low charge current compartor be related? (Iterm min = Vlc / Rsr ?)

- If ISET2 is 0V, does the minimum precharge/termination current be disabled?
They consider to design termination current detection by external circuit. So they want the minimum termination current is disabled.

Hi Tateo-san,

This comparator uses voltage, so if using a 20mohm resistor, then the actual termination current will be 64mA.

If they want to disable termination and use external circuit, they can also connect TTC to GND (low on TTC) to disable both timer and termination. This option seems the way to go.

They want to disable only termination current. Is there any way to disable termination current and enable safety timer?
They consider when Viset2 is 0V, Iterm become 0A. So they suppose to be able to disable only termination current.

Tateo,

The minimum precharge is 1.25mV on SRP-SRN. For 20mohm resistor, this would be 62.5mA. I don't believe there is another way to remove termination without TTC to GND. You can use a higher sense resistor value, but that would cost efficiency.
