Cell balancing of multiple parallel strings

we had a battery requirement of 4S4P battery pack and opted to go with passive cell balancing, 

                (A)                                         

                              

                    (B) 

  • Above 2 options we have, with figure (A) architecture using only 1 balancing IC for the pack, but issue with this approach is individual cell balancing
  • With Figure (B) architecture 4 balancing IC will be used for 4 parallel strings

Please let us know TI recommend architecture A or B  considering balancing in to consideration.
