BQ24616: where to connect ACP and ACN

Part Number: BQ24616
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ24161, BQ24170,

Dear Specialists,

My customer is considering BQ24161 and has a question.

Could you please advise?

---

When ACP and ACN pin are unused, they shoule be connected to PVCC like BQ24170(datasheet Fig 25.)

Could it possible to connect to AGND or PGND instead of PVCC.

Because PVCC is concerned about switching noise, I'd like to minimize as low as  possible.

---

I appreciate your great help in advance.

Best regards,

Shinichi

  • Hi Shinichi,

If they are using BATDRV, then ACN is used to control BATFET (ACN for turned off, ACN-6V for turned on). If not, then as long as ACP and ACN are shorted together, the input current limit loop is disabled. I don't think any other comparator uses ACP and ACN to make any decisions according to the datasheet, so shorting both to PGND should not be a problem.

    Regards,
    Steven
  • Are you asking about bq24616 or bq24161?

For bq24616, you can just connect on VCC. There is no PVCC on bq24616.
