Hello,
Since I get asked the question about difference between the BQ25120 and BQ25120A, I have added some details below.
BQ25120A is the new revision of silicon going from BQ25120.
There are many areas that we have changed/ improved but we are still pin2pin(ball to ball technically :)), bom2bom and software compatible.
Items that improved are-
1. VIN Startup with any VBAT voltage- No more requirements to be outside the range of <1V on VBAT when VIN plugged.
2. Improvement of state machine when connected to wireless charging on VIN side or VIN unplug.
3. Improvement on ship mode entry when VIN and MR are glitching.
4. Charging progress indicator will reflect the correct status even when VBATREG is less than VBAT. -Not a real application situation but fixed to address :)
5. Quick Output Discharge(QOD) on PMID when going to Ship Mode- Allows PMID to have a nice discharge path when going to Ship Mode as compared to just leaving a stray voltage on PMID.
