BQ24190: how to set BAT_OVP protection

Part Number: BQ24190

Hello

My customer use bq24190.

They set as:

VBAT_OVP= 1.04 x VBAT_REG =1.04 x 4.2V=4.368V

Anyway, customer use battery pack which use protection IC ( Ricoh R5478N) in the battery pack whose  protecion voltage is 4.25V.

It means battery pack side (R5478N: 4.25V) protect from overvoltage faster than chargeer side (bq24190: 4.368V).

Customer's question is "is it reasonable?"

I recommend customer that it should be reasonable because pack side has lower impedance to battery , so pack side should be faster.

Would you please give us your opinion?

Best Regards
