BQ25703A: current consumption during operation

Hi

We can see quiescent current from datasheet.

Is it possible to estimate current consumption during operation?

Or, is it reasonable to consider only quiescent current to estimate operating current consumption?

    According to the FET's Qg and frequency, we can estimate the quiescent.
    Also, on EVM VBUS pin could have 1ohm series resistor to measure the VBus current.

    We want to confirm consumption power of single bq25703A itself.
    Please tell me if the following estimation is correct?

    1.
    Pgate = Fsw x Qg x Vcc
    (Fsw: PWM switching freq, Qg:Depending on FET, Vcc: VREGN =6V from datasheet)

    Is it correct?

    2.
    Please tell me if there is any other consumption power in bq25703A that we should consider?
    For example, What about consumption power of control logic inside IC?

    1. We may need to double Pgate value because the HIFET's gate driver power consumption is also provided by REGN though BTST charge pump.
    2. After we get Pgate, add 1mA or 2mA for the IC control logic power consumption.

    Thank you. We refer 1mA or 2mA.
    What voltage can we refer for internal control logic to calculate consumption power?

    One the datasheet, when the charge at performance mode (REGN is on) with battery only, the quiescent current is about 1mA. So, the internal circuit current consumption is on that level.
    If you don't want to calculate, you can change the FET to your FET on an EVM and measure the VBUS series resistor voltage drop.
