BQ51003: Installation of Support Tool for FOF Calculation

Part Number: BQ51003
I had a lot of problems to extract the tool. Now I got finally the Installer, but it don't work. It is not possible to install the tool.
This is the only tool to calculate the R FOD. Please help me to get a working version.
  • Hello
We checked on this and the tool can be downloaded and is working well.
Can you describe the problem that you are seeing?
  • Dear Bill,

I can download the tool and extract it. Than I have the Installer:

    FODCalibration-1.0.1-windows-installer.exe   (60,835K)

After this, I do a doubble click to start the Installation. The system asks, whether I want to change the system thru this software and I click "Yes".

Than I see a very short Time the waiting Symbol. After this nothing happens any more. I have no additional Program in the Program list and no new icon. I am the Admin on this computer, so I do not understand the problem, if the installer should work.

    Best Regards

    Reiner

  • Hello Reiner
We checked the download and installer, both are working.

Did the program set up the below folder and is FODCalibration.exe in the folder?
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Texas Instruments\FODCalibration

Also to use this program the Avid Technologies Qi FOD Transmitter is required, see below.

  • Dear Bill,

yesterday we got a installation. It seems, the installer is not working on Windows 7. With a Windows 10 system we coudl install it.

It would be good, if you could for the future note the compatibility of the programs on the web page.

Are there any cheaper solutions for the avid components?

    Best Regards

    Reiner

  • Thanks for the update regarding Windows 7 compatibility.
The AVID FOD TX is the only tool that I know of that can measure the TX power with the accuracy required to set up FOD.
