BQ25896: VSYS off while VBUS and battery connected

We implement BQ25896 for mobile tracker. We would like to achieve configuration while VBUS has current for charging battery only - we would like to have VSYS disconnected.

It would be perfect if we could switch VSYS by I2C.

We implemented QON to exit shipping mode (turn our system on by providing current on VSYS).

We also implemented programatic system shutdown by sending BATFET_DIS=1 by I2C .

The problem is - we cannot turn off system while it is charging because attaching current on VBUS switches current on VSYS by exiting shipping mode ;-)

    Hi Maciej,

    Are you asking if the charger can continuing charging but disconnect SYS from the system?  If so, then the answer is no.  You would need to add a FET between SYS and your system to provide such isolation.
