We are producing a battery pack with a TI BQ27541-V200 Fuel Gauge Chip and a BQ24030 Charger Chip.
We have run into an issue where the charger chip is over charging the battery pack (2-cell in parallel). We have measured voltages as high as 4.256 on a voltmeter and with the Fuel Gauge Chip.
Do you know if there are over charge issues with this BQ24030 chip? What can we do about this issue?
There have been no previous issues with overcharge or tolerance with the bq24030 IC (with 10's of millions of ICs sold), but that is as a stand alone charger.
I would have to see the schematic of the setup using a gas gauge. Please attach schematic. I believe that the gas gauge typically regulate to 50mV across the sense resistor and maybe this is where the additional error is.
