I would like to know if TI has any plans to come out with a new IC to replace bq78pl116. From the website, it says that the bq34Z100 is a replacement to bq78pl116, but it is not a true replacement since it does not have AFE, charge-discharge MOSFET control and protection features. We can use BQ76Pl536A or BQ77PL910A for battery protection but it does not certain features that make bq78pl116 a complete BMS solution such as active balancing and SMBUS host controlled.

Is there any future plans for TI to develop a new bq78pl116 type IC that support LiFePO4 type batteries.

Thanks

    Hello T.I. support people,

Could somebody tell us if something will be available, and when, for BMS design dedicated to LiFePO4, that we were so far, doing with BQ116/102?

    Thanks
