Hello,
I know that hes subject was rised in several threads, but non of them gave me full answer on my question.
I have 10s1p pack connected to BQ78PL114 and 3 pieces of BQ6PL102. I have noticed that voltage measured by BQ78PL114 have an offset of around 200mV. I have just connected BQ78PL114 repregrammed it to be S12 and modified it to work with 10s1p pack
1. What causes this offset?
2,. Can I callibrate cell voltage using BQWizzard?
3. Is there any factory calibration file to download to BQ8PL114 ? Where can I download these files from?
4. Shall I preserve callibration before firmware update in next PCB pieces?
any answer would be very helpfull
Piotr,
There should not be an offset on the PL102 devices. The PL102 calibration information will be downloaded to the PL114 when a Relearn and Initialize command is sent to the device. The voltage measurement is calibrated at the factory and cannot be calibrated at your site.
Regards
Tom
Tom,
you are right - there is no voltage offset on BQ76PL102 device, but there is on every cell measured by BQ76PL114 device. How do I get rid off this offset? Is replacing BQ78PL114 the only option? I have reprogrammed the device with 5000 firmare, but measurements are still having this 200mV error.
You say that 114 device cannot be callibrated @ my site - but there is such option in BQWizzard software.
BR,
Piotr
Sorry about the confusion. You are correct that cell voltages can be recalibrated by the user on the PL114. I normally work with the PL116 and you do not have the option to calibrate voltages with it. I had not tried cell voltage calibration on the PL114, so I did so this morning. I deleted the calibration data on my EVM and the cell voltage measurements were off. I used the Calibration utility on bqWizard to calibrate the cell voltages and the reported measurements were then within 1mV of the cell voltages. Hopefully, you will be able to calibrated your devices as well. I am not sure how your calibration data got deleted.
