I think I understand the subtleties of SafetyAlert()[AOLDL] versus SafetyStatus()[AOLDL] versus Enabled Protections A[AOLDL], but if Enabled Protections A[AOLDL] = 0, are the SafetyAlert and SafetyStatus flags still active?

The Enable Protections register can disable the fault reporting, but the over current condition will still turn the FETs off. This is the hardware protection interface and the firmware cannot disable it.

Does that mean that disabling the AOLDL disables just the fault counting part?
