Dear TI,
Just wondering why the product page for the BQ20Z45-R1 lists the max capacity at 32000mAh, but the datasheet gives a max Design Capacity of 65535mAh? Will the part allow for greater than 32000mAh?
Regards,
Kevin

Thanks for the follow-up, Mike.
The 65535mAhr comes from the datasheet so I'm curious as to whether the part can actually be programmed to have a design capacity up to that value.
Looking forward to your reply.
Best Regards,
Kevin
we have a foil where we talk about the max capacity of the gauges when we discuss fooling the calibration in high capacity packs which confirms the 32Ah figure for 20z45 ( and 16Ah for z90) , see here
1321.High capacity packs[1].pdf
but this datasheet 65535 number has been buggiing me also for a while so I'll try and find out what's behind it.
I'll be interested to hear the reasoning behind it as well. The Design Capacity field allows for 2 bytes which would be 65535, but I'm wondering if there isn't something else that is driving the 32000mAhr limit.
