bq28z560-r1 faults

Dear TI team,

I have bought one of the ti's gas gauges (BQ28z560-r1 ) and designed a driving board for this two months ago.

Now i am testing it and during this time i realize that this IC denoted as "not recommended for new design" although it was in ti's 2014 production lists. please tell me the reasons of this occurrence. what is BQ28z560-r1  faults.

    One of the reasons this device is NRND is  because we now offer a newer and more robust solution which is the bq27742-g1 pack side gauge. Also, there are known limitations in the firmware of the bq28z560-r1 when the gpio pin is configured for some safety protection features.
