QMAX Disqaulification Voltage for ChemID 400

I am using the Bq20z6x gauge.  I am attaching aged cells to a new board. The learning cycle seems to go ok - I get 06 in Update Status.  I am having difiiculty getting Update Status to go to 0E which enables cell balancing.  I am using LiFePo4 cells and am having difficulty getting a field QMAX update. Any suggestions on how to get QMAX to update would be greatly appreciated.  Also - I would like to know what the Disqualification Voltages are for ChemID 400.

Thanks

  • TI has an application note that talks about using LiFePO4 cells in SLYT402. The TI Chemistry Updater (SLUC261) contains an Excel spreadsheet that lists the disqualification voltages, and in the case of ChemID 0x0400, the disqualification voltage range is 3287-3354 mV with a disqualification SOC of 36-91%.

The application note SLYT528 mentions balancing of LiFePO4-based battery packs. I haven't worked much with LiFePO4-based systems myself, but I'm sure that someone over at TI's Battery Management department can help you out.
