Having trouble resetting/clearing a DFF (DataFlash Fault) permanent failure with the BQ20Z80.

Hello all... I am dealing with a situation where I have a received some DFF failures.  The document I have states that these faults can be cleared by sending the 0x2673 and 0x1712 ManufacturingAccess commands.  However, I have not had success with clearing this fault.  Can anyone help?

  • When I first tried this I used the "Pro" screen and tried to use the "Write SMB Word" function. Someone showed me the SBS screen has a button at the top called "Write 2 Word Command". That's where you do this.

    Hope this helps.

    David
  • Thank you David. I actually tried to use that "Write 2 Word Command". However, I am wondering if I am missing a step, not doing it correctly, or if there is another way... because the DFF flag is not clearing.

Are you familiar with another way?  What I did before joining this community, was to use that "Write 2 Word Command" and enter the 2 commands I originally mentioned.  Then hit "OK"... and refresh.  Is there something else I was supposed to do?

  • Sorry, that's the best I can come up with.

The only other thing I can think of is that the fault condition still exists.
  • David,

Sorry for the late reply... but you were correct.  The fault condition (a problem with 1 of the FET's it was controlling) was still present.
