bq20z95 bqEasy 1.8 Software Crash

Hi,

While trying to detect my battery chemical best match with the bqEasy Configuration wizard step 4c, the software crash after clicking "Match Best Chemistry..." button. The attached "print screen" image show the displayed message.

Questions :

1) Is this issue known ?

2) Is there a newer version of the software (mine is 0.9.59) ?

3) Is there an other way to find best chemical match (are DOD tables availables) ?

Thanks by advance.

  • The software can crash if the chemistry updater is corrupted.
Please download the latest chemistry updater setup from www.ti.com/.../toolssoftware version 4.49.
If this does not work, try reinstalling the EVSW from www.ti.com/.../sluc108 and then installing the chemistry updater.
Please let me know if this works.
  • Hello Swaminathan,

First of all, thanks for your replay.

Unfortunately, the software still crashes after several retry. I also tried to install it on a PC with Windows XP instead of Win 7, but it crashed again :

    And

Please also note that the modification of any DF or register data in "Data Flash" or "SBS" screen dumps also an error :

How can I solve those errors? I really need to find the best match for my chemistry.

    Thanks by advance.

    Antoine

  • Hello Swaminathan,

Can you help me please ? I really need a functional software to finish my design before the deadline.

    Thanks by advance.

  • Hi Antoine,
I think the problem might be the language settings in the OS. Please try changing Control Panel/Regional and Language Options/Format tab to English (US) and restarting the software.
    Regards,
    Swami
  • Hi Swami,

Your suggestion solved the second issue (Type mismatchtxtEdit_LoastFocus), but not the main one (Rune-time error 9) in Chemistry matching system. :-(

Any other suggestion ? I really need to match my chemistry.

Thanks by advance and best regards.

    Antoine

  • Hi Antoine,
Can you please make sure that any kind of scanning or logging is disabled when you are doing the chemistry matching.
Please let me know if you are not scanning or logging and this still happens. I will investigate more on my end.
    Swami
  • Hello Swami,

Yes I did the whole process with scan and log disabled. I tried on 3 different computers, 2 with WinXP and one with Win7. All 3 were set in english(us) format.

I also tried to log data during another run to try to use your mathcad stuff I found in SLUA372. Unfortunately, the mathcad script is not able to find anything :

    Here is the source files (Column 0 = time is s, column 1 = temp, column 2 = current, column 3 = voltage) :

    www.fiveco.ch/~transfe3/TestChemBatNew051015.csv

    www.fiveco.ch/~transfe3/chemselect_mcd11_rev37.xmcd

    Can you please :

    • Process that file to tell me which chemistry I should use (I need to go further fast now and the default chemistry has very poor results).
    • Help me to use the mathcad file to be able to do that by myself (If I need to test another chemistry). There is not a lot of documentation about that process. Which values need to be updated before processing ? Which "yellow values" can be ignored ? ...
    • Find a solution to make the bqeasy software usable.

Thanks by advance and best regards.

    Antoine
