If VOK has not cleared, then the cells have not rested long enough for a Qmax update. If you can provide a log file, then I can check to see whether there is some condition causing the update to fail.

Hi Tom,
As you suggested I will try to give some more rest time for my battery after discharge to empty. If it won't help I will provide a log file (I don't have it now).

After several hours I wrote my first post VOK flag was cleared. So battery was empty, OCVTAKEN was set and VOK was cleared but Update Status was still 04. I decided to charge battery to full. After I started chargeing battery, VOK was set but OCVTAKEN stayed set also. Is ok that OCVTAKEN stays set during chargeing process?

Yes, it is okay for OCVTAKEN to stay set during charge. It should clear at the end of charge and then set again after the pack has rested.

Sorry for digging up old thread, but I have never finished optimization cycle with success and now I'm trying to do it again.

I had some success and Update Status has changed to 05, but no mater how many times I try it never goes to 06. After update status became 05 I was trying several times to charge and discharge my battery but Update Status stayed 05.

I'm attaching zip file with charge and discharge log, .gg file and .srec. I will be grateful for any help.

I checked your files with a couple of Mathcad programs and they show that ChemID 802 is nit a good match to your cells. You should use ChemID 808. I calculated the Ra table and Qmax and added them to the attached file.

Load the default bq34z100-G1 srec

Load ChemID 808

Load the attached gg file

Send the GAUGE_EN command

You can then run a charge and discharge and check the gauging accuracy.

Thanks for your response.

I can't load gg file that you provided. When I try to import it I get following message form BQ Studio:
"File does not contain a value for Ra Tables.Ra0x Table.Ra 14"
I have compared your gg file with my file, and I see that your file doesn't have a line with "Table.Ra 14" value. What should I do to load this file to my BQ chip?

First I'd like to thank you for help, with your gg file gauging works fine.

Now I want to integrate bq34z100 with two lead acid 12V 9Ah batteries connected in parallel (ultracell.net/.../UL9-12.pdf). GPC Calculator said me that 808 is the best ChemID. I have loaded 808 ChemId and run optimization cycle but Update Status stays 04. Would you mind to look on .gg .srec files, charge/discharge logs and give me some help?

Your process looks okay and the updates should have occurred, but the Flash Update OK Voltage was set to 2000mV and it should be 1000mV for PbA. I ran the data through a Mathcad program and updated the parameters to create the attached golden file. 

Program the default srec file .

Load ChemID 808.

Load the attached gg file.

Send the GAUGE_EN command.

  I have the same questions with Patryk ,I have repeated optimization process several times, but without success (Update Staus always stays 04).

My operating steps:

Load the default bq34z100-G1 srec

Load ChemID 808

setting up data memory

REST ,then Send IT Enable command

charge&discharge

I'm attaching zip file with charge and discharge log, and.gg file  . Can you look at it and tell me what I'm doing wrong?
