BQ78350 KEYIN maximum input voltage?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ78350

The datasheet for BQ78350 is unclear regarding the maximum safe input voltage for KEYIN.

We are getting field failures of devices and suspect the KEYIN pin fails (and sources voltage) (some are short circuit after they have had 3.3V from a 10MOhm source). So which one of the limits is correct and what is the failure mode of KEYIN in case of overvoltage?

The datasheet (SLUSB48 – JULY 2014) specifies:

Abs Max. : Vin Input voltage range to all other pins: Vcc+0.3V

Recommended Operating Conditions: VinH  KEYIN: 5.5V

Electrical Characteristics I/O: VinH KEYIN: Vcc +0.3
