bq27520G4 EVM socket

Hi,

Is there a bq27520G4 EVM become with a socket so I can replace the bq27520G4 easily when I developing the bq27520G4 programming?

If no, can you produce me the part number of suggested socket for the bq27520G4 component at the bq27520G4 EVM?

Hi Itsik,

As far as I know, there aren't any (official) fuel gauge EVMs that include socketed devices. Although it's not exactly following the fuel gauge design guidelines, I use SMT-to-DIP breakout boards as a substrate to mount the fuel gauge ICs (effectively creating a DIP-packaged fuel gauge), which allows me to replace the device if it becomes damaged.

My device package is BGA only and I did not find a BGA socket.
Do someone have any other solution?

hi,

Is there an EVM with any fuel gauge that its package is DIP and supports the same data and FW programming procedures as

bq27520G4 or at least SMT and nice to have that it will be already with socket?

Hi Itsik,
The cost of having a socket on our EVM would be prohibitive, so none of our EVMS have sockets. It should be too hard to replace the chips though if you have to.
