BQ76920EVM with the EV2300 Issues

Hello,

We're having a great deal of trouble trying to program the BQ76920EVM with the EV2300. The trouble shooting I can find online recommends using the EV2400 for this EVM.

Issues:

— EV2300 doesn’t have driver support for modern versions of windows. I did try an unsupported versions (from the TI page) that was intended for newer OSes. It completed without crashing — Both the AFE and the companion chip (following their respective quick start guides) do not auto detect. When going ahead anyway, no communication is possible.

— I tried newer .bqz files for both.

— I did verify there was power after pressing boot

Have you loaded the 64-bit drivers to support the EV2300? Here is a link to the drivers. Be sure to use Run as Administrator mode when running the setup file.

Thanks for the quick reply,

The customer did try that driver. It installed without crashing, but he couldn’t get the device to communicate. He wasn’t sure if the driver didn’t install or if the board was bad. He tried to talk to the companion chip initially, but then tried to talk to the AFE. Neither would communicate (He used the correct communication for each SMB/i2c).

This sounds like the EV2300 may be defective or not working with the computer. Do you have another computer that you could try?
