simple and clear bq40z60 manual or procedure?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ40Z60, BQSTUDIO

Hello,

Before posting an other (non-answered...) question on BQ40Z60 :

Is there someone who wrote, and is ok to share, a procedure or manual for adapting default firmware for a custom board and batteries pack, based on BQ40Z60EVM ?

Like, charging current, cell number, sns and chg resistor, voltage, capacity of the pack,...

It could help a lot and spare us for seeking each information in datasheet or TRM, then in bqstudio and forgot some little detail that is not explained in documentations...

  • Hello Buyssens,

I'm not sure if such a document exists, but let me check. Hopefully, we have one that is a generic how to guide. If not that's a great suggestion and we will take it under consideration.

  • Hello Buyssens,

Sorry we don't have such document. We have documents for each stage of the development process, but not one that covers all. Please try to reference our device EVM user's guides, TRM, datasheets and other technical documentation; since they will have useful info specific to that device.

Please contact us if you have questions throughout your development cycle and we will be happy to assist. Thank you for choose our device BQ40z60.

  • If it can help, the problem that I've encountered is that :
    - the EVM user guide is ok for starting but far too small to use enough BQ40Z60 functions.
    - the TRM as not the same logic/presentation as the bqstudio (so always go from TRM to bqstudio and vice versa...)

I think that a good guide would be 2 approach type :
    - You are in bqstudio and want some more information, so the guide link the bqstudio parameter to the relevant page of the TRM.
    - You are reading the TRM and want to setup a function, so the guide indicate where to find those parameter in bqstudio.

    Rgds,

    Hubert
