BQ27411-G1: configuration lost when battery disconnected

Hello,

I have a problem with the bq27411-G1A fuel gauge.

In particular, when I program the memory with the bqstudio software, the device seems to work well, but as soon as I disconnect the battery, al the settings are lost and I need to program it again.

What should I do to store the configuration permanently?

    Hi Bedin,

    You could export the gm.fs file in Golden image. When do another operation, program the file into bqstudio.

    Hello Sammi,

    My problem is that I need to preserve the configuration afer I shipped the product to my costumer, so
    i cannot program it via bqStudio every time. i need the device to keep the configuration.

    You can store the configuration in non volatile one time programmable memory. Export the Golden Image (click the button in bqStudio) *.ot.fs file and then program this file into each bq27411 using TI Smart Flash from www.ti.com/.../toolssoftware

    i have a problem with this procedure:

    The bq studio exports only *.gm.fs images, which seems to have the same format of the *.ot.fs one, but if I rename the file to .ot.fs and I load the file to smartflash, the "program" button remains deactivated and the  "No valid OTFS file has benn opened" text remains on the bottom bar of the smartflash tool.

    What version of the gauge do you use? Is it a bq27411-G1A, G1B, G1C or G1D?

    3326.0421_1_09_80-bq27411G1A.bqzPlease copy this file into the config folder of bqStudio. This includes OTP support for the G1A.

             I export the Golden Imageo  *.ot.fs file,but I failed choose the *.ot.fs file. the smartflash only allow me to choose *.otfs file . how to program the *.ot.fs file?

    You can use the smart flash programmer to program the otfs file.

    Thanks for you reply! I download the smartflash from www.ti.com/.../sluc608 .but I cannot open the file sluc608,because the file format cannot be recognized by my computer. Computer OS is win10. which tools can recognized the file?

    Qzhi,
    Extract the .exe file from the compressed folder. Since this is an executable file you just need to double click to install. I don't know if it will work on windows 10 as i use windows 7, but it is worth a shot.
