bq40z60: Failed firmware update has corrupted chip firmware and can't recover.

Part Number: BQ40Z60

During a firmware update of the bq40z60 the update failed.  Now the chip seems unrecoverable due to a corruption of the on chip firmware.  Is there a way to recover or does the chip have to be replaced.

  • If the device is still in ROM mode, then you can try running the programming tool again. You may be able to recover it, depending on where the update was interrupted. We have also seen user recover from an interrupted programming cycle by removing and restoring power to the device. This may force it to ROM mode, if the flash memory contents are corrupted.
