BQ27441-G1: BQ27441-G1 / Minimum measurable current

Part Number: BQ27441-G1

Hi,

This may be basic question but let me ask for my understanding. Please let me know the minimum measurable current when 10mohm sense resistor is used. I think that it can be calculated by the resolution of Integrating ADC (Coulomb Counter).

Best Regards,

Satoshi / Japan Disty

  • The gauge reports currents with a 1mA resolution so that's the practical limit. The coulomb counter ADC has an effective resolution of 16 bit and a range of 50mV so each LSB equals 0.76uV --> with a 10mOhm resistor this equals 76uA (theoretical).

  • Hi Dominik,

Thank you for your response. I also guess that the minimum current gauge can report will be 1mA because the unit of AverageCurrent() in standard command is [mA].

Then I have one more question. The gauge can measure the discharge current lower than 1mA and count it though the minimum current can be reported is 1mA. Is my understanding correct?

    Best Regards,
    Satoshi

    This is correct.
