BQ27320: changing battery pack to new one

Hi Team,

My customer considers to use BQ27320 (CEDV) for their application that is system-side configuration.
I understood programming golden file is required at production timing.

Is it required to re-program the same golden file after changing battery pack to new one if the battery degradation is occured by long usage?

HI Yaita,
I would not recommend reprogramming a golden file on an aged unit. It will take several iterations/cycles for the gauge to learn the aged battery characteristics. If it is a brand new battery, then it is ok to program the golden file.

I apologize for confusing you.

I would like to know if it is required to program the golden file when changing from degraded battery to brand new one.
My customer think it is ideal if there is no need to program in this case.

if changing from a degraded battery to a brand new one, then yes you have to program the golden file.
