BQ34Z100-G1: Usage of "Device Chemistry" Parameter (CHEM ID)

Part Number: BQ34Z100-G1

A question regarding the  CHEM ID which is only accessible via a read-only command.

The Chem ID  is not listed as one of the DATA FLASH (DF) parameters. Consequently, when a new DF file (file.gg.csv) is loaded, the CHEM ID doesn't get loaded.

Is the CHEM_ID value used as part of the impedance tracking algorithm? Does it have to be correct in order for the impedance tracking to operate from a different DF set?

  • Loading a .gg or .gg.csv file does not program the chemID (or full battery profile). To actual chemID data is stored in private dataflash so you must either use the Chemistry plugin to program the chemID or program a .srec or other file that writes the entire dataflash array.
