Hi everyone, I'm kind of new to this forum, and I wanted to ask the all knowing populous some question. I'm building a small arm 9 pda like device, and I want to power it from a small lithium ion battery. I've asked a couple of questions about li-on and decided I needed a battery management...

Which is the best IC for charging a rechargable NiMH AA battery? An AA battery is 1.2V, and between 500 and 1000mAh. The new BQ2000 appears to be the simplest charging IC on the market, and it detects battery chemistry. But, unlike a laptop battery, there is no temperature sensing on a standard AA...

I suspect that it continues to monitor the cells at a 50 millisecond sample rate, just as in standalone mode (Otherwise, what's the point of the FS bit in OUTPUT_CONTROL?) A fellow engineer believes that in host-control-mode, it only measure cell V's when the host measures cell voltage at V_OUT...

I have an identical need and haven't yet found a good solution. Did you come up with anything? I've wondered about using two bq240xxs and some MOSFETS to connect/disconnect the cells, but it isn't a clean solution.
