Q: BQ76PL102 without the BQ78PL114 ? by 125801
Is it possible to use BQ76PL102 without the BQ78PL114 as a standalone battery monitor ?
On the webpage of the bq76PL112, it is written that this component has a SMbus but in the datasheet, there is only powerLAN.

The bq76PL102 requires the use of the bq78PL114. The bq78PL114 is the Gateway controller for a PowerLAN network consisting of bq76PL102s. There are no plans to date to release the PowerLAN communication protocol to allow for standalone operation. Please contact your local sales representative to voice your application requirements. They will communicate your needs to the TI-BMS new product development group for possible inclusion in new product development.
