There are improvements and bug fixes for UCD92xx, UCD90xxx, TPS, and Isolated devices. Highlights of key changes since 1.8.140 are described below.

Misc:

  • You can now disable the GUI’s built-in range checking for numeric PMBus commands. This is primarily useful to validate PMBus command range checking on a device. Once the advanced features password has been entered, you can select this option in the Debug menu:
  • OPERATION command is no longer imported in online mode.
  • Increased allowed IBIAS_TRIM range for 40-pin UCD30xx devices.

UCD92xx:

  • Updated schematics for UCD74110 DCR driver.
  • On UCD92xx, the following commands can no longer be write protected through security:
    • PARM_VALUE: this command is used when the GUI starts up to determine the endianess of PARM_INFO/VALUE.
    • STORE_DEFAULT_ALL: since security setting is not automatically stored to flash, securing STORE_DEFAULT_ALL is not possible on UCD92xx
    • Clicking the collapse time model settings icon would crash the GUI. Fixed.

UCD90xxx:

  • The MISC_CONFIG command editor (“Other Config” tab) would not restore the “Unlimited” max re-sequences setting correctly. Fixed.

TPS Top Apollo, Kingston, Grunt,:

  • Numerous changes to editors for all devices.
  • On TPS4022, the GUI would crash if you launched the rail dashboard, closed the dashboard, and then changed rails. Fixed.
  • A sample TPS40422 project file is now available in the offline wizard.

Isolated:

  • If a UCD31xx-based device was reset and did not have a program flash checksum, the GUI would not send the device back to program/flash mode and so the device would stay stuck in ROM mode. Fixed. This should resolve firmware download issues.
  • For the voltage loop of PFC the design plots would display a frequency of 0 Hz as the starting point.  It has now been updated to 0.1 Hz.
  • When configuring the bin-threshold tables users were not able to pick limit resolutions of the same value, subsequent limits had to be greater otherwise you could not write compensation.  Now subsequent limits need only be greater than or equal to.

UCD Flash Export Improvements:

  • When exporting data flash for JTAG SVF, hex file, or script, any flash logs such as logged peaks will be cleared on the device before the data flash is read.
  • STORE_DEFAULT_ALL and clearing of data flash logs is now only done once when exporting multiple formats (for example, exporting data flash hex file and an SVF file).
  • SVF generation could fail on Windows 7 machines due to Windows UAC issues. Fixed.
  • If security is enabled and flash log commands are write protected, exporting various flash-based formats would display an error to the user. The GUI will now skip these commands and warn the user in the log.
  • When exporting a “firmware upgrade script”, the delay embedded in the script to allow the device to get to ROM was calculated based on the device you were exporting from (for example, UCD9246). The delay should be based on the device will be upgraded (for example, UCD9240). This defect could have been issue when upgrading UCD9220 and UCD9240, as these devices can require extended time to get to ROM.

    When creating a firmware upgrade script for UCD92xx, the GUI now prompts you to select the target device.


“Target Device” is not shown when exporting from non-UCD92xx devices.
